The Challenge
Meridian's dev teams were juggling four separate tools: Jira for tasks, Toggl for time, GitHub for code, and Slack for communication. The context switching was killing productivity. They needed a single desktop app that unified the workflow without sacrificing speed.
Our Approach
We chose Electron with a React frontend for cross-platform support, but offloaded performance-critical tasks to Rust via Neon bindings — giving desktop-native speed for operations like file watching and local SQLite queries. GitHub OAuth and Webhooks provided seamless code integration.
The Result
TaskForge launched in Q4 2023 and hit $2M ARR within 12 months. With 800+ active dev teams and a 72 NPS score, it became Meridian's flagship product. The 99.9% uptime was achieved through an offline-first SQLite architecture with background sync.
