The Challenge
FinVenture needed a finance app that could compete with established players like Mint and YNAB while offering a smoother, more modern iOS-native experience. The app had to handle real-time bank data, complex chart rendering, and strict financial data security requirements.
Our Approach
We chose Swift with SwiftUI for a fully native iOS experience. The architecture followed Clean Architecture principles with a unidirectional data flow. We integrated the Plaid API for secure bank connectivity and built custom chart components using SwiftUI Canvas for zero-dependency performance.
The Result
Launched on the App Store in Q1 2024, FinFlow hit 200,000 downloads in the first 6 months with a 4.8-star rating. The 68% 30-day retention rate significantly outperforms the industry average of 42% for finance apps. User savings increased by 35% on average within the first 3 months of use.
